The DVD helps explain why the series will be a major contender for best drama when the Emmys are handed out Sept. 16.

For veterans, the pilot alone will make this set worth buying. For those of you who waited until now to hop on Heroes' cape tails...yes, you will believe a man can fly.

This is a series to be owned and savored, like a comic-book collectible, and it holds up very well to repeated viewings.

Like any good comic book, the DVD set leaves its audience wanting more.

The set was good, but it didn't have a big, stand-out feature that would have made it awesome.

Obsessive Heroes fans will be happy with the amount of bonus features included in this seven-disc set, even if those extras are uneven in quality.

The splashiest bonus is a 73-minute unaired version of the series pilot, which features a terrorism story line that Kring notes was dropped because of network concerns about how the material would play in a potential 8 p.m. time slot.

If you haven't seen it, see it. If you have, see it again. Even if it's not HD, this standard-def version is--in point of fact--fairly heroic in itself!

Sammy P gave it a10:
Perfect! Claire, Peter and Hiro are awesome. I love to hate Sylar. One of the best villains ever. He's totally creepy. He's going to make a great Mr. Spock! But your really have to love the big three for their great hearts.
R G. gave it a6:
Good show half the time. If you are more into flash than substance, you'll love it. Season finale practically ruined the entire season it was so weak. I prefer The 4400 over this show, it's just a better/deeper more realistic take on the same concept (aka, normal people getting powers). Plus their season finale's have been incredible - Heroes could learn a thing or two from that show.
Dan A. gave it a6:
The most over-rated of shows. Half of this show is very good and the other half is unbelievable bad. The writing is often times embarrassing. It’s a soap opera for boys. If you love this show, check and make sure you are not a moron.
Mike O gave it a6:
Overall I actually feel this show deserves a 7, in its beginning it was a better show, BUT the finale was executed rather poorly. (my opinion of course) The story is coming apart at the seams and there isn't enough cohesion between the story elements for the show to make sense. Hopefully season 2 will introduce a more balanced story with more twists that develop the story rather than simply having twists for the shock value.
Jack O. gave it a10:
Heroes is beyond incredible! Mike's a douche, whose favorite TV show is probably Laguna Beach or Newlyweds.
triply gave it a5:
Heroes is one of those shows where when you watch it, it's super awesome. But once the dust has settled, you say to yourself "that made no sense, what about this?, How'd that happen?, who's that guy?, etc." The more I think about Heroes, the more I think it will be one of those shows that (when the hype dies down) you'll look back in 5 years and say to yourself, "meh, nothing special."
Greg Anderson gave it a10:
I had never watched Heroes before I bought the box set, but I'm very glad I did! Very entertaining show with compelling characters, good dialogue and amazing effects for a tv show.
