Entertainment Weekly Josh Wolk
It's clever [and] a little dark. [29 Sep 2006, p.72]
88
New York Post Linda Stasi
While tonight's premiere episode is good, the show really sprouts wings and flies in episode two.

Nothing groundbreaking here, obviously, but it's still pretty funny.

It shows more than a bit of promise.

San Francisco Chronicle Tim Goodman
"Help Me Help You" has a few more surprises and comedic heft to it than expected.

People Weekly Tom Gliatto
It's pleasant enough--and thankfully it's not zany. The problem is that Danson's crisis is believable midlife comedy, while the patients' neuroses are closer to stock. [9 Oct 2006, p.41]

Detroit Free Press Mike Duffy
A sly, witty step up from the boorish "Becker."

Los Angeles Times Robert Lloyd
It's funny in its own way, smarter than most TV comedies and has a terrific cast -- all of which makes me wonder why I'm not more moved by it.

Chicago Sun-Times Doug Elfman
At first blush, "Help Me Help You" looks like it will be terrible, but it's not. The actors are talented. The language and pacing are playful.

Kansas City Star Aaron Barnhart
A mildly amusing sitcom that is promising -- including the sense that it promises to go nowhere fast.

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
The show isn't a debacle, but it's a disappointing comedy that doesn't live up to an interesting premise.

Mr. Danson has some funny moments, but he is not as comfortable in a comic genre where deadpan takes the place of punch line.

USA Today Robert Bianco
Considering his talents, Danson should be the show's biggest asset, and yet his character has become its biggest problem.

Several steps up from "Becker."

It’s not laugh-out-loud funny, but once in a while it’s vaguely amusing, though certainly not in a must-see sort of way.

Hollywood Reporter Barry Garron
For now, it remains more like a group of shuffled skits than a cohesive series.

Variety Brian Lowry
While [Danson's] old-pro timing gives the show a modest lift, "Help Me Help You" provides more of an incentive to get off the couch than to plop down on one.

Miami Herald Glenn Garvin
The jibes quickly wear thin and predictable, and there's simply not much to Help Me Help You.

Orlando Sentinel Hal Boedeker
Danson throws himself into the role with good humor, but Help Me Help You yields little good humor.

Philadelphia Inquirer Jonathan Storm
There's no laugh track, so maybe it's all supposed to be sophisticated and delightfully risque. But nobody will be mistaking Rushfield and Konner for Noel Coward or Oscar Wilde.

Newsday Verne Gay
"Help Me" is a Gobi Desert of laughs... There's a strong odor of desperation on-screen, as if the competent and seasoned actors here know they're in this for a short ride. Indeed, they are.

Ashish A gave it a9:
Nice show! interesting characters. lots of potential.

C.B. gave it a7:
Jim Rash is great.

Kristin gave it a4:
First episode was kinda funny, but I could not get into the second episode. Therapy patients are too one note and so is Danson's character. Would be better if they made Danson's character less annoying and more liikeable. Also would be better with more of Jane Kaczmarek-Ted Danson dynamic.

w m gave it a6:
The first half of trhe show was borng and not funny. The second half was adequate enough to warrant a second check the following week.

bill j gave it a9:
Great cast and good writing. This show has potential. I'll be watching.
