Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, and Aisha Tyler

Not only does Jennifer Love Hewitt see dead people, she talks to them too. It's only a matter of time before they tell her: "You're cancelled." Unless having Hewitt run around in a nightgown is enough to secure decent ratings. (Which, come to think of it, might just do it.)

What is special about "Ghost Whisperer" is the way it gets everything else right -- casting, acting, writing, directing, pacing, music, you name it.

Ghost Whisperer can be surprisingly moving. [24 Oct 2005, p.41]

Doubtless this kind of death-walking sentimentality has its fans. And most of those fans probably won't even wonder why some of the dead are stuck in the clothes in which they died, while others get to rent tuxedos.

Hewitt is quite good, or as good as the show allows; there are some potholes along the way, as the script sacrifices sense to sentiment.

A mini-triumph of style over substance (of which there is almost none).

My "Sixth Sense" says "Ghost Whisperer" isn't a very good show at all.

Neither Ms. Hewitt nor her series are malevolent forces, and the producers can feel as good as they choose about a cloying job well done.

It's all a bunch of mush, but I suspect it's mush that will find a receptive audience.

A series like this can go in a lot of different directions, and creator-writer-director John Gray takes them there. He goes for the scary, the funny and the overbearingly sentimental, but it is the latter that dominates.

The problem is a lack of depth; "Joan of Arcadia," the series this is replacing, had heartfelt moments and significant emotion behind its storylines. Whereas this has Love telling ghosties to head for the light.

At times during ''Ghost Whisperer," the sentiment is so thick you might want to go away from the light -- the light from the TV set, that is.

Not only is this one of the more melodramatic, sappy, empty pilots on the slate, but the ghosts she encounters are hopelessly sweet and sentimental.

Love this show...hate the turn Jim's death has taken. Could understand him not crossing over and maybe can help her more by not crossing....but this nonsense with taking another body...not letting his people mourn his death because jim stole his body...yuck! Afraid they've jumped the shark and will lose this devoted viewe and many more.

Linda A. gave it a10:
Faith, love, romance, supsence and hope for the after life all wrapped up into one show. The characters Melinda and Jim bring beauty into a world of tv where marriages are always filled with couples who have betray and feel betrayed. How refreshing. The whole show is just great and has much meaning. Love its! Thanks

DeNise S. gave it a10:
I love this show and I always looked forward to Fridays! Melinda and Jim had this great chemistry. I don't know why you killed him. but I was so mad I quit watching it! my daughter called me and said they put him in someone else's body but I liked the real husband sorry, ( I didn't watch it so I don't know how it went. Maybe after I get over being mad I will come back to watching it but for now good luck with the show It really is a good show I just wish you wouldn't have done that!

Diana Smith gave it a10:
Please, let her be dreaming, or something . Don't let her husband be dead. My sisters and I watch the show every week. Please,we want him to live, or we are gonna stop watching. Their love and understanding for each other makes the show that much better. WE LOVE HIM (DAVID CONRAD) JIM. Thank You, for reading this.

Steven S. gave it a10:
This about the best and only show to watch on t.v. everything else is a rerun of the the nightly local news from rape to murder hope CBS doesn't cancel this show but it wouldn't be the first stupid thing a network did. or the last.

Kathy S gave it a10:
Don't listen to the critics. I love this show. I too never miss an episode. With the addition of many paranormal TV shows, I'm really surprised Ghost Whisperer might be on the chopping block. Bring the professor back...we all know he is in love with her!

Paula S. gave it a10:
I love this show I can't wait for Friday nights when I can sit down and watch. I hope they don't canceled it and I hope that her husband doesn't die. Please let me keep enjoying this wonderful show. I always cry at the end it is so touching.
