Summary
[Xbox Live Arcade] The fusion of "rhythm" and "puzzle" creates a completely new kind of game in 0D Beat Drop! Drop pieces along with the beat, and go for the win with explosive chains. In addition to the single player mode with over 100 stages, online play includes options such as playing against a single player, playing with four players total, or having a team battle! The unique "Beat-O-Matic" function analyzes your own songs and lets you use them in the game. Feel the rhythm of the beat! [Arc System Works]

Beat Drop is a superb puzzle game with loads of depth, excellent accessibility and more modes and options than you can shake a stick at.

The ability to analyze your own music and wrap the gameplay around it makes 0-D Beat Drop a standout puzzle game on Xbox Live Arcade. It definitely borrows a lot from similar games (you might even say steals) but the demanding rhythmic component here makes the end result unique.

0-D Beat Drop isn't a revolutionary game, but it is a clever and fun one. The learning curve is steep for the first hour or so as you figure out the rules, but from there it's a matter of getting just a little better with each playthrough.

0D Beat Drop is a breath of fresh air in a genre that seems to continue to rest on its laurels. Sure it will not be for everyone, but it offers enough new ideas to make it worth your while.

A complex puzzler. [Feb 2010, p.88]

0-D Beat Drop is more of a variant on games that you've probably played before than a unique experience

For 10 bucks, the game does pass the time and can become quite addicting for anyone who enjoys games like Tetris or Columns. When put into that scenario, it seems like a great bargain... which it is!

Despite the negative aspects pointed out in this review, 0D Beat Drop really is a solid puzzle game. The mechanics and the gimmick make it a good alternative for puzzle fanatics who are looking for something different from their routine. It's just too bad that the implementation of some of those mechanics wasn't as polished as one would have hoped.
