Summary

In this installment, the Bad Company crew again find themselves in the heart of the action, where they must use every weapon and vehicle at their disposal to survive. In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the 'B' company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite engine can. [Electronic Arts]

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is one of the best shooters of this generation. The game has steel-solid mechanics, top gen graphics and an incredible multiplayer. PC Version is slightly over the top, thanks to graphical improvements and a better control scheme.

The game is really amazing, the destruction adds a great level of immersion and gameplay, everything feels polished, and the attention and respect the PC version has gotten has been a hit for Dice as they reported that the PC version of the game is the highest seller right now beating out the 360 and PS3.

Both singleplayer and multiplayer experiences excel in Bad Company 2, and the sequel is a great step up from its first iteration. This is one of the best and most addictive on-line experiences in a shooter in years.

Though it occasionally stumbles, there's one thing that Bad Company 2 clearly demonstrates: DICE has graduated from the, "can only do a multiplayer FPS" class, and is perfectly capable of making a great all-around game.

The campaign could use some creative spark, but it’s the staying power of the multiplayer that wins the day. If you look to get the most out of your money with video game purchases, you can’t go wrong with Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Even with its problems, Bad Company 2 on the PC is the real deal, and it's definitely worth the money for anyone that has been a fan of Battlefield games in the past.

All in all, don’t let the rather generic and short single player campaign deter you from picking up Bad Company 2. The multiplayer is a fantastic gaming experience and without a doubt it gives Modern Warfare 2 a run for its money.

Despite an outstanding multiplayer ride, we still encountered problems - not to mention, the recent EA server issues, problems with lag and other technical mishaps. Mind you, all of that still won't stop you from recognizing what's probably one of the best shooters on the current PC and (from what I'm told) the console market.

The second Bad Company out of the Battlefield series is more entertaining than the first one. The well done story not only justifies the singleplayer mode, it makes it to an important part of the game. The only thing that is a little bit strange is that your character can’t prone.

Bad Company 2 is an excellent game and the best modern warfare shooter to date. Despite the cookie-cutter campaign, it beats Modern Warfare 2 in both single-player and multiplayer.

Even though the single-player campaign still isn’t where it needs to be, Bad Company 2 is definitely a great sequel that builds on its predecessor in every way, making for one that no shooter fan will want to miss, especially if you go online for your gaming.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a great game, with astounding visuals, but it can be a little bit disappointing to the old Company fans. Linear and in some way over scripted, wide open spaces are now replaced by more tightened ones, but they can be completely flattened thanks to the evolved Frostbyte 2.0 engine.

The new single-player mode isn’t that interesting, but the multi-player part is fantastic. With new destructable environments and new game modes Bad Company 2 is the best Battlefield game so far.

Do you like first-person shooters? If the answer is yes, buy Battlefield: Bad Company 2. If there's a weakness it lies in the slightly brief single-player campaign, but the brilliant, potentially Modern Warfare 2 beating multiplayer more than picks up the slack.

It's kind of like DICE has trained for a game development biathlon, resulting in its first game where the single-player mode is just as good as the multiplayer -- and that says DICE has what it takes to be among the best in the business.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 does what it does best: create a multiplayer experience which lifts it head and shoulders above the other shooters. All the pieces come together perfectly in an online that brings out the best of the Battlefields, with Rush as the pièce de résistance. Too bad that the sub-par singleplayer brings down the score quite a bit.

Sam F gave it a9:
Yet another FPS That is up there with the best. This one stands out for its Ability to total destruction of the buildings and cover, Bad Company 2 did away with the injecting yourself like they did in the first to heal each time and went with the take cover and heal which most FPS Games do so well. The elimination of having to press an extra button to heal really improves this version. A very well made game which deserves its spot in the top 10 FPS Games.

Trevor gave it a1:
Do NOT buy unless you have a 2-3 thousand dollar computer. I have a fairly powerful computer consisting of 3GB memory, 2.4gH processing speed, and a 256 MB video card (NVidia GT8600),running windows 7, and I CAN'T even play this game on the lowest settings. DICE did a horrible job of optimizing this game, DO NOT believe the minimum requirements. The only reason I give it a 1 is because i managed to play about an hour online, before video lag got the best of me.

John M gave it a10:
This game is about as good as it gets as far as team/squad based online modern warfare fps games go. Really rewarding gameplay in highly destructable environments that make playing the game different every time because cover is dynamic and can be destroyed. The game look great, plays great and is very addictive and fun. Worth every penny.

Terence S gave it a10:
As evidence of my lack of sleep after the day of release, this is a spot on Battlefield game. I don't know why most of these reviews are concentrated on a single player. Battlefield games are a monster that you know all too well. Multiplayer is at the heart of it all. I enjoyed that this game doesn't have the crappy player who just runs around and knifes everyone, like MW2 did. I'm certain there's certain exploits, but none inherintly obvious. Also, when I get killed because the freaking building falls on me, that definitely gives a game bonus points in my book.

Steve H gave it a10:
Honestly the most fun I've had playing an online shooter in a long time. This is what Battlefield 2 should have been, and it's definitely worth the cash I spent on it. (Cheaper than MW2 and way more entertaining.) The only downside I've seen is the single player, but if you're playing Battlefield by yourself you're playing the wrong games. And you're a lonely person.

jimmy jimjim gave it an8:
Never has such a good game annoyed me so much. No radios, heavy connection issues, my unlocks disappear from time to time, long loading time, you spawn next to enemies, this is just a very clunky game. I understand, it's the first few days of the game, etc. etc... but come on guys, I'm a professional too, and if we released something (not necessarily a game) that's this clunky and problematic, I know some heads are going to roll. You're talking about paying customers here. We expressed our respect for your product by paying for it - at least respect us and our own time by ensuring that you put out a completely functional product when you release it. However, this is a good game, like I said, when it works. Excellent atmosphere, graphics, sound, gameplay. I just wish it doesn't waste so much of the customer's time on bad connections, bugs and downtimes.

adam s. gave it a7:
No so bad as MW2 and not so good as COD4 , BFBC2 is a fruit of 10% creativity and 90% of copying , u can easily notice the Crysis feeling half life too , and cod 4 , ok thats not a big problem , gfx are perfects more than perfects and smoth im impressed , but the story line are very bad the game play too ( no Crouch , no lean , no M4 :) , no smoke , no flash , and a bad squad and enemy AI ) , my hope to get a game beter than COD 4 is ruined and lost since IW is gone and Activision wana make COD a warcraft like .
